Dear Supporters, August, 2014
This is thought to be the translation of Jesus’ last words as He cried “It is finished” on the cross. Upon closer study, scholars have concluded that Jesus actually meant that He had finished everything He set out to do, and in doing so, had started something new or “to have put into a continuous state of.”
Tetelestai is also a builder’s word. It is the word a builder uses when he hands over the keys to a new building and says, “It is finished; I have done everything according to the plan. It is complete.”
This is how I feel now. I want to shout out Tetelestai! All glory is due Him! My wife and I have been with you all since we started Lance’s Deaf Orphans back in 2008. I will continue to be with LDO as a field director while we merge with Deaf Child Hope (DCH). I feel incredibly blessed to have been a part of His plans to start something, and then, with your support, get it ready for the next “continuous state of.”
I will be meeting with key members of DCH mid-August to finalize things. I don’t want to spend time now looking back and reminiscing because that is not my intent. I want to look forward to the future and how we all can continue our support and take LDO to the next level with Deaf Child Hope.
This is such a critical juncture in the future of LDO. Right now, more than ever, your support is greatly needed. Here’s how you can continue to help us:
- · Continued or renewed monthly support
- · One time gifts
- · Prayers for the staff and Deaf orphans’ health
- · Word of mouth- let people know of DCH/LDO’s needs
- · Fundraising, creative ideas to generate support
- · Maybe even volunteer to come on trips and help teach the kids
On behalf of the 21 orphans, 6 staff, my wife and I, a huge THANK YOU for everything you have done over the years!!! You have blessed us beyond imagination! Thank you also for all that you will continue to do in caring for these precious children. May His blessings and peace rain down upon each of you, and may you have great joy in knowing that you have been His hand and feet.
Lance and Sonja

Welcome to our new, updated website! Although a few pages are still in work, I am excited because this will also enable us to send out more updates, and monthly newsletters to anyone who is interested. This also is a lot easier to update and maintain! Enjoy the new website! -Lance McWilliams

Currently, all who are involved with Lance’s Deaf Orphans, including myself, are volunteers. We are so grateful to these amazing people for all their love and dedication to the Deaf orphans. We hope in the future to be able to raise enough support to pay the staff in Kenya for their contributions to Lance’s Deaf Orphans.
